Mission Statement

The New York Pain Pump Institute provides new world solutions for your individualized chronic pain needs. We combine advanced neuromodulation therapies with time-tested treatment options to provide the best chronic pain care available for you, the patient.

At The New York Pain Pump Institute, we understand that chronic pain is an individual experience that requires a personalized approach with compassionate, and targeted care.

Our team of physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, Nurses and medical staff are focused on giving you the opportunity to enjoy your life again.

History

New York Pain Pump Institute was founded in 2023 by Dr. Suelane Do Ouro, a double board-certified physician in both anesthesiology and pain management. With 25 years of experience in pain management, Dr. Do Ouro has grown to be considered one of the world’s leading experts in targeted drug delivery utilizing the intrathecal pain pump.

The New York Pain Pump Institute was built, from the ground up, by Dr. Do Ouro, with the goal of providing the best possible patient environment for the continuous ongoing management of intrathecal pump management, minimally invasive procedures, and ongoing patient care experience.

Meet the Providers

AGPCNP-BC, RNFA, RN, MSN, BSN

Trevor completed his undergraduate nursing education at Moravian University in 2010. He established a strong foundation as a healthcare provider through his nursing experience. From 2010 through 2021, he worked in varying states and roles.

His experience included medical surgical nursing, step-down nursing, peri-operative nursing, orthopedics, open heart surgery, sports medicine, post-anesthesia recovery and emergency medicine. You can see him on the original Netflix series, Emergency: NYC.

In 2021, Trevor graduated, Summa Cumme Laude from The City University of New York Adult Geriatric Nurse Practitioner Program. He worked as a teacher’s assistant and research assistant and was ultimately awarded the clinical excellence award. Since 2021, Trevor has been working directly with Dr. Do Ouro at New York Pain Relief Medicine and The New York Pain Pump Institute as a member of her clinical team.

PA-C, MS

Asya developed a love for medicine at a very young age. Growing up in a family with quite a medical history, she was inspired to take after her mother and pursue a career in helping people.

Asya attended Wagner Colleges physician assistant 5-year combined BS/MS program immediately after graduating high school. While at the program she completed a year of didactic studies as well as two years of both generalized and specialized clinical studies. Her clinical rotations included, but were not limited to, pain management, orthopedics, neurosurgery, emergency medicine, and a study abroad program in Staffordshire , England’s St. George’s hospital for psychiatric medicine. Asya graduated and became board certified.

She maintains memberships to both the National Commision on Certification of Physician Assistants as well as The American Academy of Physician Assistants.
Working alongside Dr. Suelane Do Ouro, Asya has become well versed in a variety of complex pain conditions. She is skilled in performing a variety of trigger point injections, joint injections and intrathecal pumps.

MD

After suffering from severe neck pain, Dr. Suelane Do Ouro has a real life understanding of the impact chronic pain can have on a person’s quality of life. This has inspired her to take an open-minded approach to chronic pain management.

Since 2001, Dr. Do Ouro fulfilled her mission as a pain specialist and anesthesiologist with the Department of Pain Medicine and Palliative Care at Beth Israel Hospital, serving as the Associate Department Director from 2002 until 2017.

In 2017, she founded her own practice, New York Pain Relief Medicine, where she serves as the Medical Director and established one of the biggest pain pump practices in the world. Through this, she has gained global recognition for her contributions to advancing the field of chronic pain management and pain pump therapy.
